Our Story
Iron Wood Meat Company was built on grit, discipline, and respect for the land.
From our base in Forest Grove, Oregon, we began by raising Angus Wagyu cross cattle using regenerative practices that restore soil, protect water, and honor the animals in our care. What started as a commitment to raising exceptional beef has grown into something more, a carefully curated collection of premium meats, cured specialties, and artisan provisions designed for those who appreciate craftsmanship on the table.
Today, Iron Wood offers not only our own ranch raised beef, but also a selection of world class ingredients and provisions, from traditional cured meats and specialty sausages to chef tested oils, vinegars, salts, and cooking tools. Every product we offer is chosen with the same relentless focus on quality, flavor, and authenticity.
Founder Jeremy Neel, alongside his daughter Kiyana Neel, helped build Iron Wood Meat Company from the ground up with a shared vision of creating something lasting. Kiyana played a role in helping establish the company and continues to help guide its growth and direction.
Jeremy brings the precision, integrity, and discipline forged through years in the fire service into every decision at Iron Wood. That same mindset guides how we raise our cattle, how we source our products, and how we serve our customers.
Iron Wood is built for those who value strength, tradition, and excellence, both in the kitchen and beyond.
Our Values
Land First
We believe great food begins with healthy land. Our regenerative grazing practices protect soil health, preserve water resources, and build long term fertility.
Animal Respect
Low stress handling and attentive herd management ensure our cattle are raised responsibly and humanely.
Transparency
From pasture to plate, and from product to package, we believe customers deserve to know exactly where their food comes from.
Community
We proudly partner with local butchers, farmers, artisans, and producers to strengthen Oregon’s food economy and preserve traditional food craftsmanship.
What Sets Us Apart
Iron Wood is not a commodity, it is a commitment.
Our herd is intentionally kept small to ensure the highest quality beef with rich marbling, balanced flavor, and exceptional tenderness. But our vision goes beyond our own ranch.
Every cured ham, artisan provision, seasoning blend, and cooking tool we offer is carefully selected to meet the same uncompromising standards. From dry aging and traditional curing to small batch oils and handcrafted ingredients, Iron Wood exists to bring together the very best for those who refuse to settle for ordinary.
When you choose Iron Wood, you are not just buying meat.
You are joining a community that values strength, authenticity, craftsmanship, and the simple power of great food shared around the table.

What Is Angus Wagyu
Angus Wagyu is a cross between two exceptional cattle breeds. Japanese Wagyu is known for its extraordinary marbling and buttery texture, while American Angus contributes rich beef flavor and strong structure. When carefully bred together, the result is beef that balances tenderness, flavor, and consistency.
At Iron Wood, our Angus Wagyu cattle are raised with attention to animal health, pasture management, and responsible ranching practices. This careful approach allows the natural qualities of the breed to develop fully, producing beef with remarkable marbling, deep flavor, and a refined eating experience.
The goal is simple. Raise cattle well, handle them with care, and produce beef that stands apart for both flavor and quality.
